"As with any journey, who you travel with can be more important than your destination"
This past weekend I met up with Jessica, Emily, Casey, Bailey, and Bailey's flatmate, Madeleine, in Amsterdam. Oh my goodness it was so much fun! I have missed my friends, but meeting up again felt like I had just seen them the week before rather than 3 months ago. Friday was just me, Emily, and Jessica, and then everyone else arrived on Saturday.
On Friday we went to the maritime museum and got to tour a ship. I like to think it was a pirate ship but I don't think it was. However, they don't like when you climb up on the edge of the ship and hang on to the rope like Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Carribbean. Oh well, it was definitely worth getting yelled at in dutch.

Once the rest of squad arrived, we did a canal ride tour, ice skating, and visited the Anne Frank House, which was incredibly powerful, and I strongly encourage anyone who visits Amsterdam in the future to make time to go there. We also found a cat boat to visit. It was a house boat that had been turned into a cat shelter, so you could go there to play with cats, and all of them were up for adoption.
On Sunday we went ice skating again to celebrate Jessica's birthday (you can never have too much ice skating). And we got Dutch pancakes, which are somewhere between French crepes and American pancakes, but are really delicious.
Amsterdam is an amazing city and I really hope I get to go back one day. Other updates on Barcelona: they turned on the Christmas lights!!! There are lights strung over most of the main streets and it's wonderful. And the Christmas markets here have started. I can't wait for Christmas!
Things I've learned, round 10:
I'm pretty sure this section is actually just me telling ridiculous stories because all of the ridiculous things happen to me
-So I got stuck in Amsterdam...in the Amsterdam sign that is. I was climbing the I Amsterdam sign and I got on top of the 't'. But when it was time to get down, someone wouldn't let me jump, so I decided to slide between the t and the e, which would have been fine if I hadnt turned at the last second. My hips did not fit between the e and the t and ouch. Just don't do that.
-When you go to lay in the hammocks that they have in the ships to show you where the crew would have slept, make sure it's not broken first. I jumped in the only one that had a hole in it and fell straight through (it was fine though cause they were super close to the ground)
-I have no idea how to even begin to pronounce Dutch words. Reading signs was quite interesting
-If I could continue to visit a different country every weekend, I would be perfectly happy

Up next on the adventure list is visiting Emily and Jake this weekend in Dublin. And next week I will be going to Paris, and Disneyland! So much excitement!
