"I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list." - Susan Sontag
For the first time this semester I didn't travel anywhere for two whole weeks. Instead, I had some pretty cool people visit me here in Barcelona! Two weekends ago, my grandparents visited for a week, which was so much fun! I enjoyed getting to show them my favorite places in the city, and finding some new places as well. We went to the beach, Park Güell, and Montserrat just to name a few. Below are some pictures from their visit!
My grandparents left last Tuesday and Jessica came to visit on Thursday, which was also, conveniently, my birthday!! Susana and Alejandra, my host family, made me dinner and a cake, and sang Happy Birthday. As much as I missed spending my Birthday with my family, it was still a pretty special day. And I mean, birthday in Spain? Can't get much better than that.
While Jessica was here, we did Park Guell, La Sagrada Familia, the Gothic Quarter, etc. And we got to go to a Barça futbol match!! They played Málaga, and they tied 0-0. Although we didn't actually win, we didn't lose either, and it was still a fun experience. Real quick fun fact: when you are abbreviating Barcelona, Barça (pronounced bar-sa) is the soccer team, and Bar'na is the city. One of the first things I was told when I got to the city was "don't say you live in Barça, that means you live in a soccer team."
We also got to go to the movie theater here, which I had not done yet. We saw the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them premiere (not the midnight one) and it was amazing. Below are some pictures from last weekends adventures!

More learning things:
- I love my city. And being able to show people around makes me realize two things. 1, I really like it here and am going to miss it and 2, there is still so much I haven't seen or discovered yet
- When you are trying to get into the apartment where your bed and breakfast is, it helps if you're in the right building. Grandma and Granddad and I were trying to get back one night and the key wouldn't work in the outside lock but someone let us inside. Then the key wouldn't work in the apartment door. So after about 10 minutes of trying to make it fit in the lock we realized there were two identical apartments right next to each other and we were in the wrong one...oops!
- You can't take a Nalgene into Camp Nou (soccer stadium) because they are afraid you will throw it at somebody. But if you do try to bring it in, one person (Jessica) has to take it to security while the other (Sara) has to wait at the gate as collateral until you return with a ticket.

This weekend is #wheredasquadat in Amsterdam! I can't wait to see my friends. And I can't believe it's exactly one month left of study abroad.
