It has been exactly one month since I left the United States and landed in Dublin, Ireland. It feels like I landed and arrived at my homestay yesterday. I am having an amazing time here and have been able to go on so many adventures and learn so much!
I have been able to explore several of the towns around Dublin Bay, which has proven to be a super fun thing to do! I have been to Howth, Bray and Greystones which are all coastal towns a short train ride away from Dublin on the DART. My friends and I when visiting each of these places have taken cliff walks, or hikes around the area and seen the beautiful coast. Last Saturday we went to Kilkenny for the day and got to visit and tour Kilkenny Castle, walk around the city and I visited the craft guild located in the old stables of the castle where today they sell things that are handmade in Ireland.

I have also gotten to do more things in Dublin and in city center. Two weekends ago my friend Jake and I went to a comedy show in the basement of The Stag's Head (a popular and traditional style pub in Temple Bar area). It was a hoot. I also briefly went to a drag show that was happening in city center. This was the first drag show I had ever been to and it was also a lot of fun! We met some really nice and exciting people while waiting in line too, which made the time pass a lot quicker. Last Friday my friends and I met at a pub called Cassidy’s, where you can play board games while you hang out with friends and share a drink. On Sunday we went to Ireland’s Museum of Modern Art, which was really interesting and fun to explore a part of the city I had not yet been to. These are just a few of the great experiences I have had while being in Dublin for a month.
Needless to say I have been able to be a part of and have some pretty neat experiences. I have learned that saying yes to new things and stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to incredible memories being made with equally incredible people. So get out there and try something new!
I can’t wait to see what new experiences lie around the corner!
*Stay tuned for another blog post. I hope to post them more frequently.
