Its me! I'm back with another update for everyone. Halloween has come and gone since I last posted and I've also returned from the rifle club trip to Bisley. Halloween was great fun. I dressed as a nerd because it was affordable and, surprisingly enough, not that hard of a look for me to achieve. I'm going to put all my photos from these past few weeks or so in a slideshow at the bottom of this post.
Anyway, back to it. Bisley was a load of fun. For those of you who don't know the British NRA's (very different from the U.S. NRA) fullbore range is located in Bisley, which is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Fullbore is a mostly British type of shooting done at 300, 500, 600, and up to 1,200 yards outdoors. On Saturday I shot at 300 and 500 yards decently enough to not be embarrassed for a beginner and it was a lot of fun to shoot a larger rifle. It was freezing cold and windy! Often when I finished my shoot I could no longer feel my fingers. On Sunday I did 600 yards and then back to 300 for the fun guns. I had the opportunity to shoot a sniper rifle and an old Enfield for the fun gun session. Both of which were very fun, but the Enfield definitely left a bruise on my shoulder.
If you would have told me back in September that I would be joining the rifle club and shooting, I would not have believed you. I had never shot before coming to Exeter, and now I've met some of the best people and had the best time.
Coming up for me is the election! Its tomorrow, so don't forget to vote. If I can vote in another country, you can vote back at home. I'm planning on having an election coverage watch party with several of my flatmates and British friends who find the American election amusing. This upcoming weekend I am going to meet my bestie/roommate from E&H in Scotland! I am beyond excited for this to happen because I haven't seen her since July.
Stay tuned for more because Scotland, Geneva, Thanksgiving, and Amsterdam are still to come!
Cheers!
